Armod, sounds like you need a cigar case, 2,3,5 finger or even a small herfa-dor box. That way you can toss in a humi pillow or a humi tube and keep them humidified. All of those can be had cheaply on cbid.

They get the moisture sucked out of them as soon as I fill the humi units. Have you tried using a room humidifier to boost the RH in the room where you keep your humidors? I do that and it helps quite a lot. Without it running, the house was around 20-25% RH this past winter, with it running (and the door to the room open) I could get the RH in the room up to around 45-50%, and if I closed the door to that room I could get the whole room up to 70% RH if I wanted to. This is one of the best room humidifiers I've used: http://www.airoswiss.net/info/ultrasonics/7135.aspx-JT I had a big humidifier in my den last year, but it was a pain in the ass having to remove the tanks and refill them with water every day. I finally said, F it. For me, being able to breathe and not blow blood out my nose from 20% RH was worth the daily water refilling routine. -JT

I installed a whole house humidifier a few years ago. Best thing I ever did for winter!
No more shocks, no more bloody noses, heat feels warmer.

Took about a week to soak up the moisture and get some huimidity going, but damn, so nice! Cranked the bitch until I got some condensation on the windows then backed down a bit.

That was a great side-benefit when I kept salt-water aquariums...the evaporation from them was several gallons a day and I never had low humidity problems in the winter

when all is said and done, the bottom line is, it's just easier and cheaper to keep the cigars in the coolerdor for the winter. No fuss, no muss, no dent in the checkbook.
